Jabba's Throne Dais, by Renegade Clone
We saw when TLG first updated the Jabba figure that it had room for a Technic axle at the center of the rotating head, but this is the first time we (or at least I) have seen the functionality enabled by that integrated seamlessly into a throne room dais, as Renegade Clone has done here. Besides the functionality and the clean design of the dais, I also really like the use of the capes beneath the ‘figs. Check out the behind the scenes shots and the animated GIF in the thread on EB.

Speeder Bike Chase, on MOCpages.com by Lars Kumpfert

There has been a flurry of Endor-related MOCs recently, presumably inspired in-part by the new Ewok Village, and this one by Lars Kumpfert on MOCpages.com has caught my eye.  It’s quite an unusual design, both in scale and the types of elements used.

The MOC includes both the Biker Scout, shown in the photo above, plus Luke racing along side.  The surrounding scene includes a mass of coloured slopes, which are used to re-create a large tree trunk and a rocky outcrop; it’s unusual but it works well.  There are several other photos which show the model at other angles, so take a look.

Rebel Transport, by cavegod, on Eurobricks

Several months ago Master Builder cavegod published some photos of his latest UCS WIP, a GR-75, or more commonly known as a Rebel Transport.  Although it was still in the early stages, it was already looking up to Pete’s excellent standards.

Well, after what seemed to be a long wait, we can now see the final model and it’s just beautiful!  I can appreciate why Pete has struggled to complete it, due to the very unusual shape, but it’s genuinely the best version that I’ve seen.  The mix of colours on the hull is just right and helps to re-create the ’weathered’ look of the original model, and the level of detailing is superb.  Head over to the Star Wars forum and take a look.

Credit to DrDaveWatford for the great photos.

 Coruscant, by Gerechtigkeitsliga, on Eurobricks

New EB member Gerechtigkeitsliga, has recently published some photos of his now completed Coruscant diorama, which is rather impressive!  It’s always nice to see a MOC of a less common SW environment and this is one of the very best, and largest, that I’ve seen of Coruscant.

It’s taken Gerechtigkeitsliga nearly 5 months to complete, averaging 2-5 hours per day, and this is evident throughout the entire of the build; the sheer volume of detail is amazing.  To be honest, anything that includes LEDs and Lobot was always going to appeal to me, so perhaps I’m a little biased, but please take a moment to look at the other photos of this excellent MOC!

For Hispabricks next Hoth display, car_mp has built the ion cannon from Empire. It’s got some excellent integration of greebles into the sides of the 10-wide Lowell sphere, and the prefabricated rock elements are blended into the landscaping so well that you don’t even notice they’re there.

Star Wars Halloween Special

We don’t usually get many Halloween-themed MOCs in the Star Wars forum, much less any good ones, but every once in a blue harvest we get a gem like Markus1984′s latest MOC. It shows Luke, Han, Leia, and the gang going trick-or-treating at old man Palpatine’s haunted house. The texture of the facade of the house and the boardwalk are well executed and really give it a creepy worn-down look. The Dark Side is strong in this house. Happy Halloween!

 AT-IC, by HJR, on flickr

EB member HJR has recently uploaded several photos of his AT-IC (All Terrain Ion Cannon) on flickr, and they’re well worth a look.  According to Wookieepedia, the AT-IC was one of the prototype vehicles designed for Kenner’s 1986 ‘The Epic Continues’ toy line, which failed to reach production.  In theory, it was an Imperial design but I think it would have been better if it had been used by the rebels, due to the ‘improvised’ look.

I recall seeing this MOC a while ago, which is very faithful to the original reference material, but the new images show it in greater detail.  The cannon and head are both particularly well done.

Lego Admiral on Flickr has been on a roll building several fantastic creations, the most recent being this full scale lightsaber made entirely of Lego parts. I’m liking the use of the tyre towards the bottom, and I can only imagine how cool it would be to swing this build around!

TIE Bomber, by CCOOK, on Eurobricks

EB member CCOOK has just published some photos of his latest MOC, a system-scale TIE Bomber, which looks suitably efficient!  This is my favourite of all the TIE family and it’s most recognised from Episode V, where it’s used to try to flush out the Millennium Falcon that has sought refuge in an asteroid field.  It’s in a different league to the only official version (4479) which is long overdue for an upgrade.  All it needs is an asteroid backdrop and an inconceivably large space worm, and it would be perfect!  Head over to the Star Wars forum and take a look at the other photos of this great MOC.

Jabba’s Palace, by Baronsat, on Eurobricks

Baronsat has created some great SW MOCs and I’ve always been particularly fond of his Tatooine-inspired designs, which include a wide array of buildings and even a cute Bantha!  Continuing with this theme Baronsat has constructed this impressive extension to the current Jabba’s Palace (9516). The design is very well executed and blends a new Rancor Pit, torture room and troph room seamlessly with the official set.  You can see the full details of it here.

The Great Pit of Carkoon

In this incredible diorama, Markus19840420 has captured the Episode VI Sarlacc scene perfectly. With the sand landscaping, sail barge, desert skiffs, and Sarlacc itself, it’s hard for me to decide which parts I like best.  But there’s nothing more menacing than those rows of teeth and tentacles ready to engulf its next meal.  I highly recommend checking out all of the details that went into this build on Marcus’ photostream and the new EB thread.

Docking Bay 723, by dsoffers, on Eurobricks

New Eurobricks member dsoffers has just posted some photos of his new MOC, which is a reduced-scale replica of the Death Star’s Docking Bay 327.  Although it’s not as large as some of the other designs that have been constructed for the UCS Falcon, it’s ideally sized for the current system-scale 7965.  I particularly like the design of the rear wall and the measured use of LEDs.  I’m not sure about the Droidekas though, but perhaps they’ll appear in one of the future Special Editions of  Episode IV!  Head over to the Star Wars forum and have a look at the other photos of it.

Say ‘Hello’ to my little brother: the ARC-135

ARC-135, by Bob De Quatre
EB member Bob De Quatre has reimagined the ARC-170 in a smaller form, with his signature style of expertly combining curves and angles in LDD. (especially around the bulbous tip of the nose) The resulting starfighter looks more plausible as an X-wing precursor than it’s full-size inspiration, with the long nose and two wings on each side instead of three. The wing arrangement here is an interesting interpretation of S-foils, and even if they don’t have two positions and even if they look a little more general sci-fi-esque than Star Wars-esque, I like it. The slightly asymmetrical greebling is a nice touch, too.

71,000 piece, 13-foot Super Star Destroyer, by Fox Hound
You might be familiar with the work of new EB member Fox Hound, who among other things has previously posted a 7-foot model of the Home One on MOCpages. His latest work completely dwarfs that: the Executor, replicated in excruciating detail, thirteen feet long and comprising over seventy thousand pieces. It’s still an LDD model for now (and so large that it has to be rendered in separate halves), so be sure to check it out and show your support for it to be built for real.

Acclamator class assault ship, trooper 278, on Eurobricks

Eurobricks member trooper 278 has recently posted several images of his new MOC, a Acclamator class assault ship.  It isn’t a model that I’m familiar with, but it clearly shares its basic DNA with the more well known Venator Class Star Destroyer.  At over 100cm long and 60cm wide it’s an impressive size, and the shape is a good interpretation of the limited, and inconsistent, source material.  The MOC includes some very nice details; in particular the engines and bridge are both very well executed.  Head over to the Star Wars forum to see the other images of it.
